Too Bad (
Synopsis[]
Although he is surprised that Shiki was able to control his Oni blood, Mudano easily blocks his attack and dismisses it as a fluke, watching Shiki crouch on the floor as his powers continue to overwhelm him. He begins to revert back to a berserk state, and so Mudano prepares to finish him off; he releases his own blood and uses it to summon an army of puppet archers who take aim at Shiki, but he stops this attack when he realises that Shiki is successfully fighting back against the transformation.
Realising that this can't be a fluke, he asks Shiki how he managed to control his blood and he responds that he imitated Mudano and simply willed his weapon into reality. Mudano remarks that Oni traditionally have to suppress their feelings and instincts by relying on reason to avoid succumbing to their power - but that Shiki does the opposite and takes control through emotional instinct. Although unpredictable, this comes with an explosive amount of power. Mudano scolds Shiki but tells him that he's passed the exam (by the skin of his teeth) and will become his student.
He explains that they are actually on an island off the coast of Japan called Onigashima and Shiki will attend Rasetsu Academy, a military academy for Oni who will train to fight the Momotarou Corporation. Mudano will be his instructor.
