Synopsis[]
At the Academy, Shiki prepares for his first day of school, marveling at the new horns sprouting from his head and realizing that the wounds from his earlier battle had already completely healed.
Mudano escorts him to the classroom and, on the way, he tells Shiki that Tsuyoshi's body is still being held at the school mortuary, and that he is free to arrange a funeral as he sees fit. Noticing that Shiki is upset, Mudano advises him not to waste time regretting what happened, but to instead become stronger so that he doesn't have to experience similar loss in the future.
When they reach the classroom, Shiki wonders how he can best make a cool entrance; Mudano unceremoniously sends him flying through the door with a kick.
Before he joins the students inside, he answers a phone call from the principal, who is surprised and excited that Mudano has - for the first time - personally nominated a student to the Academy. He adds that the new students are the most promising that the school has seen in decades and tells Mudano to train them well.
Inside the classroom, Shiki approaches another student, Jin Kougasaki, and asks for a tissue to wipe his bleeding nose and the two begin to bicker when Jin tells Shiki not to talk to him. As they continue, Ikari Yaoroshi joins in the argument and Kuina Sazanami encourages all three to fight. Juji Yusurube interrupts to tell everyone to stop, and offers to rip his book up to give Shiki a page for his nose.
Shiki turns his attention back to Jin but, before the situation can escalate, both are shocked and disturbed that Mudano has quietly appeared behind them undetected.
With everyone seated, Mudano announces to the students that he won't be delivering the usual orientation; instead, the will be playing a game of tag.
