Ikari Yaoroshi (
Appearance[]
Ikari is a rather tall, well built teenager with short black hair with an undercut and noticeably sharp teeth, which he flaunts whenever he smiles. His eyes are narrow and blue, and he has a piercing on his right eyebrow. He is normally seen in the school attire given to students. After joining the Kikoku unit, he wears their uniform.
His horns are a bit short and rather sharp, resembling sterotypical demon horns.
Personality[]
Yaoroshi is a hothead and a rather violent one too. He hates being looked down on and sees all challenges as physical ones to fight his way through. He's not interested in anything that isn't combat, being dead set on joining the Combat Unit when he officially joins the Oni Corp.
He's initially dense and doesn't see any use in him being at Rasetsu Academy when it came to his growth in fighting, but needs to be brought back by Shiki after his defecting from Rasetsu. After this, he calms down and targets his classmates less, and even works and makes his own attempts to keep his classmates together.
He has a rather innocent side to him, believing that romance and relationships are saved until the age of 20 and thinking that hand-holding causes pregnancy.
Plot[]
When Ikari was a child, he watched his parents be killed. After his parents’ death, he lived alone in the woods and had to take care of himself. While sitting on the side of the road, a man by the name of Tenma Kajiki came up to Ikari and invited him to join his team, Team Yaken. The group members sympathized with Ikari since they also lost their parents.
One day, the group was attacked by Momos. The group couldn’t escape because they were completely outnumbered and their camp was surrounded by flames. Knowing that they couldn’t all escape, the team members threw Ikari across a river, away from the flames. When Ikari finally made it back to the camp, everyone was dead. Due to this traumatic incident, he never wanted to have friends again.Powers & Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: He has a high amount of stamina and is able to last long in battle. He has good fighting capabilities and a good sense of fighting. Like his entire class, he is considered to be in the best generation of Onis to join the Oni Corporation's Combat Unit
Blood Eclipse Release (血蝕解放 Kesshoku Kaihō): Like other Oni, Yaoroshi is able to control and manipulate his blood through Blood Eclipse Release, creating unique devices based off personal experiences and/or interests.
- Hot Blooded Hysteria (怒鬼怒氣ヒストリー Doki Doki Hisutorī): Whenever Ikari gets angry he can form his blood into a variety of different objects, but will have no idea which he'll end up with until it's formed. Besides the strength of the weapon depending on the level of his anger, Ikari can only use this ability a maximum of three times per day.
- These objects include: Claws, Boots, Wings of Blood (wings), Divine Twin Blades (Dual Swords)
Relationships[]
Shiki Ichinose[]
He and Shiki don't get along too well initially, due to confliciting hotheaded personalities. Yaoroshi often made fun of Shiki, usually because Shiki would usually get told off for something. The two are known for often yelling at each other, typically due to them getting angry and frustrated at each other.
During Kegon Falls, Yaoroshi leaves the school to join the Kikoku Unit, and Shiki is someone who tries to convince him to stay, but he fails at that. When Shiki goes to save Yaoroshi at Kegon Falls, he hears from Shiki that he still believes in Yaoroshi and doesn't judge him for the move he had taken in leaving the school.
Naito Mudano[]
Yaoroshi doesn't seem to like Mudano too much, likely seeing him as a hindrance to his growth to being a stronger person. Mudano, however, sees potential in Yaoroshi, so much that he doesn't object to a side mission of saving him during Kegon Falls.
Hayate Todoroki[]
When Todoroki came down to Rasetsu Academy to pick up Shiki and ask him to join his team, Yaoroshi asks to join instead, and Todoroki agrees. The night after he joins, Todoroki confides in him about why he believes in a killing of all Momotarou. It's not until Todoroki tries to kill a pregnant woman, that he really starts asking questions about his mission, and it's then that he backs out of the Kikoku Unit.
Tenma Kajiki[]
Tenma would be the person who would find Yaoroshi and bring him to his group, Team Yaken, after seeing how alone he was. Understanding his situation, Tenma and the others would accept Yaoroshi into their team, earning Yaoroshi's affection, who would see them, and especially Tenma, as his older brothers.
Yaoroshi would develop the goal of protecting his group of new friends, even though this would lead to his death, something for which Tenma would scold him for being reckless. After his base was attacked by a group of momotaro, in an act of brotherhood, Tenma would save Yaoroshi so that he wouldn't be killed by them. The deaths of Tenma and the others would mark Yaoroshi in such a way that he would seek to become strong on his own to avenge his friends and be afraid to make friends again.
Etymology[]
- His given name Ikari means "anchor" (碇 ikari).
- His surname Yaoroshi means "arrow" (矢 ya) and "bora wind, wind that blows down from top of the mountain" (颪 oroshi).
