Naito Mudano (
Appearance[]
Mudano is a tall, slim man with black eyes and black hair that is parted to the left, two vertical black stripes are visible on his right cheek and he usually dresses in black formalwear; sometimes with white pinstripes. For the sake of efficiency,[2] he often wears rollerblades instead of shoes.
It is usually hidden, but Mudano also has an unfinished blackout tattoo;[3] only the sleeve is visible when he wears a t-shirt, but Oiranzaka states that it's a full-body piece Mudano updates when a friend is killed. The full tattoo is made up of blocks and shapes of black ink, as well as a few symbols that cover his arm, chest, and stomach.
Personality[]
Mudano is a quiet and serious man with a disdain for inefficiency, he's a very difficult person to impress, he'd never personally admitted anyone to the Academy prior to Shiki.[4] Although he comes across as cold and extreme in his methods, Mudano is a gentle person who cares about his students and pushes them only because he wants them to be strong enough to escape the threats they face as Oni.[5]
He is a patient individual who does not rise to mockery - whether it be from his friends or his enemies, it doesn't matter. Mudano seems to deliberately keep his distance from even those whom appear close to him but quietly comforts and encourages his students when they are upset.
Despite his calm and collected nature, he does grow angry as well to the point of possible destruction, mostly in regards to what may happen to his students because of Momotarou.
Plot[]
He met Shiki after his dad is killed by Samidare. He takes him to Rasetsu Academy, After testing him, he agrees to let him join.
He poses a challenge to the students, to manage to make it to a certain point in the school without getting tagged by him, and if they do, they get expelled.
He gives an additional part, if his students manage to kill him, they can graduate immediately.He takes the kids on a mission to see the Support Branch of Kyoto, meeting his high school friend, Oiranzaka Kyouya, and helping him out with some of his patients. While they're off doing this, Mudano does his front line work, needing to help out other Oni with fighting Momomiya Tsubakiri and Momokusa Yomogi.
He takes the kids to go and do a small undercover mission in Nerima. He introduces the class to their Patrol Unit in Nerima, Yodogawa Masumi and Namikido Karou, to find Kougasaki after he goes off to help out some humans and gets kidnapped. He gets into two separate fights, one with Momokado Ousuke and the other with Momoka Tsukuyomi, both in which he wins, leaving the two desiring a rematch.
He also asks Masumi's help when it came to Kougasaki's showdown with Momoiwa Shinya and Shiki dealing with Momodera MikadoHe has the students fight against Nekosaki Hagure and Innami Yuu as they make their way to the peak of a mountain.

Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: Mudano is considered an elite fighter of the Oni Corporation's Combat Unit, possessing a legendary reputation among Oni and Momotarou, being known for having killed over a hundred enemies single-handedly. His power is acknowledged by both Hayate Momoido and his right hand man knowing that fighting Mudano would be a pain for them.
Superhuman Physique: Mudano is a very physically strong oni, being able to do physical feats that normal people are not able to do such as jumping great heights easily, hitting the enemy with enough force to send them flying on impact and even split a tree in half at the same time. hurl a scythe, block and parry attacks at close range without blinking.
Master hand-to-hand combatant: Mudano and highly proficient in unarmed combat, being able to fight more than one enemy at the same time without difficulty, using his great physical aptitude to dominate them with quick and powerful attacks capable of easily taking down oni students and fighting against rank momotaros. commanding officer.
Master Strategist: Mudano is very intelligent and quick-thinking, managing to quickly come up with combat strategies to deal with any situation. Being always equipped like a series of apretechos, he easily dominates enemies without making use of his blood manipulation, also using objects from the battlefield to help him in the fight.
Blood Eclipse Release: Like other Oni, Mudano is able to control and manipulate his blood through Blood Eclipse Release, creating unique devices based off personal experiences and/or interests.
- Torrential Rebirth (
雨過 転生 Uka Tensei): Mudano summons a small army of archer blood puppets. These archers levitate in the air above the battlefield and use this position to fire a volley of arrows at an opponent. [6] During this attack, Mudano's blood umbrella extends to the floor and conceals him. Known as Rebirth's Deluge in the anime subbed and dubbed versions. - Autumn Cloudburst (
繚 乱 時雨 Ryōran Shigure): Using his blood umbrella, Mudano can control a powerful downpour of blood. This is only possible when the umbrella remains open. Known as Profuse Autumn Rain in the anime subbed and dubbed versions.[7] - Quenching Rain of the Twin Dragons' Tears (
聖双 龍 涕 ノ慈雨 Seisō Ryūtei no Jiu): Two blood dragons rise from the ground and make a cross attack on the enemy. The ground needs to contain a certain amount of Naito's blood in order for him to use this attack. Known as Divine Tears of the Twin Dragons in the anime subbed and dubbed versions.[8] - Abyss of the Dark Waters (
深淵 之 水闇 Fukafuchi no Mizuyami): After summoning a giant blood goddess named "Okami no Kami", Naito releases an immense spiral of water to attack his opponents with.[9] - Okami-no-Kami (
淤加 美神 ) - Autumn Cloudburst: Rain Priest (
繚 乱 時雨 ・雨坊 主 Ryōran Shigure: Amabōzu) - Calming Sweep: Mundano uses his blood umbrella to reflect and defend himself from enemy attacks.
- Verdant Rain: Mundano uses his blood umbrella to fire a high-speed volley of blood bullets.
- Rain Waterfall: Mundano uses his blood umbrella to generate a rope that attaches itself to the enemy to target them with an explosive blast of blood.
- The Dragon Within Awakens: Mundane uses his blood umbrella to spawn a blood dragon that fires a powerful explosive blast of blood from its mouth.
- Autumn Cloudburst: Divine Umbrella - Dispeller of Dew Mudano transforms his umbrella into an array of banners which block projectiles.[10]
Equipment[]
- Umbrella: Not to be confused with the one he produces from his own blood, Mudano carries an umbrella which doubles as a multi-functional weapon.[11] Using the shaft as gun barrel, it can fire rubber bullets through the ferrule, which is detachable and can double as a smoke bomb. The canopy is slash-proof and can also be used as a capture net.
- Rollerblades: Mudano wears these to increase his speed and to make his movement more efficient.
- Briefcase: During the Kegon Falls Arc Mudano uses a special briefcase with multiple gadgets in it like, a small Gatling gun that comes out the front of the Briefcase and a smoke bomb that Mudano get in the lower end of the Briefcase. The Briefcase as well seem to be way heavier than when the shrop isn't being holded, When Momoki Mejiro knock the Briefcase out of Mudano's hand and Tried to catch it, The Briefcase broked both of his Arm and made a small crater in the ground.
Relationships[]
Shiki Ichinose[]
Shiki is his student, the first student he has personally referred to the school. On the surface, he doesn't seem to like Shiki very much, often calling him an idiot and a fool, even saying he was unfit for the school when he was doing his entrance exam. However, he clearly does respect Shiki in some and sees a lot of potential within him.
He does try to reassure Shiki often, doing his best to talk to him after Shiki's hard decision to the kill the scientist at Keagon Falls and giving him a bit of an easier time afterwards.
Kyoya Oiranzaka[]
He and Kyouya met each other when they were in school together at Rasetsu Academy. They didn't initially get along because of Mudano's lack of knowledge on cooperation, but Kyouya gets over that after their first fight together. As adults, Mudano seems to not mind Kyouya's teasing and even seems to like him in his own way.
They seem to be rather close, with Kyouya even knowing the meaning behind the tattoo that Mudano hides under his sleeves. He also seems to have a bit of a window to how Mudano feels about his students, especially Shiki.
Masumi Yodogawa[]
He and Masumi were students when they attended Rasetsu Academy. It's unknown how they were in high school, but as adults, Masumi seems to enjoy bringing up how he used to be when he was officially in the Combat Unit, even though Mudano seems to dislike those days. He often doesn't respond to his teasing and seems to ram through how Masumi wants to do his missions in order to include his students, much to Masumi's irritation.
Jin Kougasaki[]
The two initially didn't get along with Kougasaki intially wanting to kill Mudano, seeing it as a way to get out of Rasetsu Academy faster in order to kill his father. Mudano found him annoying because of how he viewed helping his classmates. Mudano, however, has grown to seem to want to keep Kougasaki in check due to his reckless kindness towards others. Mudano manages to get Kougasaki on his side, with him trusting him more. Mudano doesn't put him down for anything, such as him trying to help the human girls or when he suspects Yusurube being the traitor. Mudano tries to talk out of Kougasaki, but he is aware that he is still far too weak against his father.
Homare Byobugaura[]
Homare is one of Mudano's students. He found Homare when she was alone after she killed her abusive father. He took her in to the Rasetsu Academy to teach her to gain full control over her powers. He took Homare to medical.
Etymology[]
- His given name Naito means "nothingness" (無 nai) and "human, individual" (人 to).
- His surname Mudano means "nothingness" (無 mu), "to collapse" (陀 da) and "field, wilderness" (野 no).
