Tsuyoshi Momogawara (
Appearance[]
Tsuyoshi is a middle-aged man with a wrinkled face. He has spiky, dark-colored hair with a beard and wears a yukata.
Personality[]
Much like Shiki Ichinose, Tsuyoshi has a boisterous attitude and a vulgar way of speaking. Although, He is deeply protective of his son.
Despite being a Momotaro, He shown to have some care for Oni, in particular his foster son. Willingly giving up his position and allegiance to the Momotaro Corporation. He wants to see an end to the conflict between Oni and Momotarou.
Plot[]
Tsuyoshi was a former member of the Momotarou Corporation but, after finding an orphaned child, he adopted Shiki Ichinose - a child of Oni blood. For harbouring an Oni, he became a target for extermination by the Momo Corp and so he became he civilian, evading pursuit by quietly running a liquor store and raising Shiki without telling him about his heritage.
After Samidare Momoya, a member of the Momo Corp, discovered their location, Tsuyoshi attacked him and attempted to flee with Shiki. As they made their escape, he revealed that Shiki is an Oni being hunted by the Momo Corp and explained the history of conflict between Oni and Momotarou.
Unable to shake their pursuer, Shiki was captured by Samidare and Tsuyoshi was forced to engage in battle. After he spontaneously produced a cleaver-like sword from black mist, Shiki learned that Tsuyoshi was also a Momotarou and was once Samidare's superior, but his strength had deteriorated with years away from the battlefield and he was cut down by his opponent.
Seeing his father defeated, Shiki's frustration and rage triggered the awakening of his Oni powers. In a berserk state, he relentlessly attacked Samidare before eventually burning out. Taking advantage of Shiki's confusion, Samidare prepared to land a killing blow but was instead met by Tsuyoshi, who slashed his torso but was fatally stabbed through the chest at the same time.
A Momo Corp helicopter arrived to retrieve Samidare and, as he made his escape, Shiki attempted to carry Tsuyoshi away and find medical help. His father refused and asked him instead to listen carefully to his final request: that Shiki become strong enough to lost to neither the Momotarou nor his Oni blood. With his father dying in his arms, Shiki wept and apologized for having told him he was glad they weren't biologically related.
After Shiki enrolled at Rasetsu Academy, Tsuyoshi's body was temporarily held at the school's mortuary before being buried on the school grounds.
Power & Abilities[]
Tsuyoshi is a Momotarou and is able to manipulate bacteria (in the form of black mist) to create weapons. He uses a large, flat sword that looks like a cleaver.
Etymology[]
- His name Tsuyoshi has the Kunyomi reading for "strong, durable, powerful" (剛 tsuyo) and "purpose, will, determination, aspiration, ambition" (志 shi).
- His former surname Momogawara means "peach" (桃 momo) and "tile, gram" (瓦 gawara).
- His surname Ichinose means "one" (一 ichi), "of" particle (ノ no) and "rapids, current" (瀬 se).
